About the Artist

Art found me long before I knew I was an artist.

My first mural appeared on my bedroom wall when I was five years old, drawn with my mother’s lipstick. It may not have been my mother’s favorite surprise, but it revealed something that has stayed with me ever since: an instinct to make, explore, and communicate through art.

Over the years, I followed many different paths, including a career in engineering and raising a family. Yet the desire to create never really disappeared. It simply waited for the space and freedom to return.

I began painting seriously in 2011, selling my first painting to an interior designer and discovering how deeply fulfilling it was to see my work become part of someone else’s space. Life eventually pulled me in other directions, but the creative thread remained.

In 2024, I discovered the Milan Art Institute, an experience that reignited my passion and changed the way I approached my work. I completed its Mastery Program in 2026, deepening my understanding of mixed media, acrylics, oils, texture, and the layered process that has become central to my art.

Today, I paint from a place of curiosity and connection, drawing on the influences that have shaped me — family, culture, nature, and the many chapters of a life lived in search of meaning. My paintings are built layer by layer, much like our stories: with fragments, discoveries, unexpected turns, and details that reveal themselves slowly.

I hope each painting offers a moment to pause, look closer, and perhaps find a little of your own story within it.

I paint because some things are easier to express visually than they are to put into words.

My paintings are explorations of beauty, memory, and the layers that accumulate over a lifetime. I am drawn to subjects that carry a sense of presence — a face, a flower, an animal, a fragment of pattern — and I use them as starting points for something more intuitive.

Color is often my first language. Texture, gesture, symbolism, and pattern become the vocabulary that follows. I build and obscure surfaces, allowing parts of the painting to emerge, disappear, and reappear along the way.

The result is work that lives somewhere between recognition and imagination: familiar enough to draw you in, but open enough to leave you wondering.

The path to becoming an artist was anything but straightforward.

Rania's creative journey began at five, with that bedroom-wall mural and an instinct to make something of her own. Over the years, she explored a variety of creative pursuits while ultimately choosing the more structured path of engineering. Later, she stepped away from her career to raise her family.

As her children grew older and more independent, the part of her that had always wanted to create began asking for her attention again.

Rania began painting seriously in 2011 and soon sold her first painting to an interior designer — an experience that gave her the encouragement to keep going. Her artistic practice continued alongside family life, sometimes taking a back seat, but never disappearing.

In 2024, she discovered the Milan Art Institute and found herself immersed in a community and creative environment that reignited her commitment to painting. What began as a renewed interest became a deeper pursuit. In 2026, she completed the Mastery Program, expanding her technical vocabulary and developing a more layered approach to acrylic and oil painting.

Today, Rania works from her studio in the United States, creating richly textured paintings that bring together color, pattern, nature, portraiture, and personal experience.

For her, painting is not simply about making an image. It's about following a thread — sometimes intuitive, sometimes unexpected — and seeing where it leads.
